Leah R. Jackman-Wheitner, Ph.D.

Helping people create a firm foundation on which to build a solid, appealing and rewarding future is a passion for Leah Jackman-Wheitner, Ph.D. After more than a decade of intensive training and experience in the field of psychology, Dr. Jackman-Wheitner shares her knowledge as a life coach by helping successful people become even more successful.

Dr. Jackman-Wheitners role as a life coach allows individual coaching clients to fine-tune their personal or professional lives, attaining new levels of success and satisfaction.

Dr. Jackman-Wheitner earned a 1991 masters degree and a 1994 doctorate in counseling psychology from The Ohio State University where she completed a dissertation regarding vocational identity and psychological health. Her bachelors degree with honors in psychology and French is from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and has completed coach training through the Institute for Life Coach Training.

Before establishing Life Design Concepts in 2002 and continuing her work with the Association of Personal and Family Counselors in Columbus, Ind., Dr. Jackman-Wheitner served as a staff psychologist for the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Childrens Home in Knightstown, Ind. Besides her experience with private clients and adolescents in residential care, she has worked as an emergency services specialist and a university academic advisor.

Dr. Jackman-Wheitner contributes to her community through her participation in local church leadership, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce and Business Network International. Those wishing to benefit from her expertise can attend one of her community presentations. Dr. Jackman-Wheitner speaks and teaches on topics including diversity, contemporary issues, career and student development, parenting issues and self-esteem. She also is an expert in the administration and interpretation of the Myers-Briggs Personality Index, a tool for understanding and effectively communicating with people of all types.

Dr. Jackman-Wheitner and her husband have two daughters. She enjoys scrapbooking, reading and visiting with friends.
